Food is where my heart lies, and is the means through which I navigate the world around me. For many, food is culture, anthropology, history, politics, nutrition. Food is also for me a nostalgia for a mother I never had, a routine that grounds my mental health, and a way for me to connect to the earth and my community.
In 2020, I co-founded an inclusive food website called Periuk with Surekha Ragavan, focusing on Malaysian home cooks, our food culture, and what we eat. As the recipes editor, I am responsible for testing and curating the recipes that are submitted and published to the site. Please contact me if you'd like to know more and get involved!
I have also written about food for several online publications, including FriedChillies and Poskod.MY, and began a sporadic column in 2019 on Wait A Minute Now called "Eat Your Feelings".
